Alice McLean

Alice Head McLean, age 89, of Wilmington, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2015. She was born on August 10, 1925 in White Hall, VA to the late Walter and Alberta Head. Alice was an executive secretary for Hanover Medical Group from 1980-1994 and was a member of Southside Baptist Church and later Scott’s Hill Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and was a social butterfly and truly loved people. She was an avid exerciser.

She is preceded in death by her son, Robert McLean.

Alice is survived by her husband of 58 years, James H. McLean; children, Patricia Anne Tucker (Bob), Donald Ray McLean (Brenda), Jamie McLean Combs (Gary), and Mary Teresa Faltus; sister, Frances Dowell; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11am in Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Chapel, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1406 Physicians, Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
