Romero M Jalomo

Romero M. Jalomo (Ernie) passed away peacefully early in the morning of March 19, 2018 at the age of 88. He was loved and supported by his family through his many life journeys. He will be dearly missed. Romero was born on October 2, 1929 in Wilmington, California. He was the fourth of eight children born to Pablo and Jesusita Jalomo. He was a longtime resident of Wilmington and spent his career of 50+ years as a merchant marine and proud member of the Sailors Union of the Pacific (SUP). Romero was a veteran of the United States Army who served his country after WWII (1946-48) and during the Korean War (1950-51). He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Annie Espinoza Jalomo; son Romero, Jr. (Rosie), son Ernesto (Gabriela), and daughter Christina Jalomo (Kirk Wilson); six grandchildren: Megan Sandoval (Danny), Andrew and Maile Jalomo Wilson, Ernesto Jalomo, Jr., Sebastian and Marc Jalomo; and two great-grandchildren: Deya and Kane Sandoval. Romero was a strong and supportive husband, father and grandfather who loved his family, hometown and maritime industry. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 22, 2018 from 5 to 9pm at Funeraria Del Angel Wilmington, 1640 N. Avalon Blvd. Rosary will be at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10a.mmat Holy Family Church, Wilmington, followed immediately by internment at the Wilmington Cemetery.
