Dorothy Mae Newman

Age 83, passed away rather suddenly on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 in Torrance, CA. She was born on July 3, 1932 in Trenton, NJ. In 1957, Dorothy moved to the South Bay area. In 1971, she moved into her beloved home in Redondo Beach for the remainder of her life.

Dorothy and Harold raised six children. Although she loved her job, her co-workers, and many successes with Robinson-May for 15 years, her most cherished moments were in the company of her family.

Dorothy was the dearly loved wife of Harold E. Newman Jr., having been married for 44 years. She was also the cherished mother of William F. (he preceded her in death in 1989); Linda M. (James) of Oceanside, CA; Gary P. (Irene) of Belcherville, MA; Cheryl L. (Darrell) of Broomfield, CO; Douglas W. (Denise) of Torrance, CA; and Scott A. (Suzanne) of Torrance, CA.

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren - Joshua, Jacob (2010), Sarah, Carrie, Brandon, Stephanie, William, Carissa, Cale, Laine, Ashley, and Kimberly. Her grandchildren also graced her with five great-grandchildren - Brandon, Tyler, Katelyn, Ethan and Nathaniel.

Viewing will be on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Funeraria del Angel McNerney's Mortuary-1640 N. Avalon Blvd., Wilmington, CA from 3pm to 8pm.

Funeral service will be on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd-21100 Victor St., Torrance, CA at 11am.

Graveside service will be at Pacific Crest Cemetery, 2701 182nd St., Redondo Beach, CA at 1pm.
