Anthony Mark Ward passed away at home in Torrance, CA on April 16th, 2024. He was 59 years old and an avid lover of music, usually found playing his acoustic guitar. He would often be accompanied in duet by his daughter, Addie Proctor, who survives him along with her husband, Samuel Proctor. He is also survived by his step-daughters, Jennifer Blickos and Deana Watts.
Mark was a man in possession of a free spirit and an open heart. He had a creative soul that expressed itself in a multitude of ways: a knack for cooking, an entrepreneurial career in photography, and a deep passion for rock and folk music. Mark was the life of the party wherever he went and would never hesitate to help a friend or stranger in need.
In his youth, Mark served his country in the U.S. Navy. Before that, he was a talented young athlete in Spring Hope, NC, where he was born. As a longtime enthusiast for the sport of baseball, the family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to Little League International, at www.littleleague.org.
A celebration of life will be held in Nash County, NC.
