Ruth began her career in New York as a coloratura soprano with the New York City Opera. She then moved back to Chicago where she continued her career with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Grant Park Concerts, radio, and was the winner of the Chicagoland Music Festival. After getting married and having her twins, she continued singing on radio and television. She then began another career as the music director and female cantorial soloist for Temple Jeremiah for 18 years. Her love of music was always expanding and some of her happiest years were spent working for WEEF Radio as a rock DJ. In addition to her love of music was her love of literature. Her creative nature lead her to write several books. One, a mystery with her friend and her last book a biographical novel and love story about her grandparents journey from Russia to the Yukon. Ruth's zest for life, her intelligence, curious nature, and wonderful sense of humor were appreciated by all who knew her. She will be truly missed.
