I am aware this is an extremely late condolence, but nevertheless, I thought it pertinent to share my sorrows. I have been friends of James and Stella as long as I can remember, and I still recall their dad's soft smile, and clever, kind nature. I became known of the tragedy this June, after James's inspiring speech at graduation, and it was a great shock. If you would of told me of it when it happened, I wouldn't have believed it. His kids kept such astounding positivity, which I have no doubt is a value he instilled in them. I know how much he was loved by his family and others and how much his memory will be cherished. I would like to add to this cherishing by sharing my own memories of this lovely, giving man. 

I would like to offer my deepest, if not late, condolences to Patrick’s family. I was a client of Patrick for a number of years and always had the most enjoyable and respectful meetings with him. To hear of his death just today was a great sadness for me. Such talent and such a great future cut short is very difficult to comprehend. 

May he find peace and his soul rest well.

Deeply sorry to your family and to you as a person.   I didn't know you, but  I became aware through circumstances.   So very sorry.    Absolute best wishes from my heart.

I worked w/ Patrick at Neuberger Berman.   He was in Chicago managing portfolios and I was in NYC, managing presentations and marketing for the fixed income business.   He was a great conversationalist, eager to dip into extensive and expansive sidebars related to history or politics or music.  It was a terrific long-distance dialogue and when I left the firm three years ago, he was one of the people who really made an effort to stay in touch.  

More important, we spoke often about our children, the joys and  challenges of being an engaged dad, a dad who reads, a dad who cares to do what's right. 

I'm hard pressed to say more - I am so sorry for his loved ones, his wife and children, and his parents.  There are no words to express this type of loss.  



Please accept our deepest condolences at Stifel in London.  We worked with Patrick from 2010 until he moved role internally in about 2014.
We have incredibly fond memories of Patrick, his intellect and his ready wit on the road in London and the UK.
We are very sad to read about his passing at such a young age.  He will be missed very much here.

My sincerest condolences.

Patrick was one of the brightest people I've ever met.  His sense of humor was spot on.  I always enjoyed the time I spent with him and Kari.  There are lots of Boston memories, as that's the timeframe I spent the most time with Patrick & Kari.  Their wedding was fabulous and Gia's baby shower was, as well.  Those two memories come easily... I'm so terribly sad.  I'm grateful to have known Patrick and I'm also glad my husband got to know him and spend time with him.  Love to Kari and the kids... 

To the entire Flynn family-
      I knew the Patrick that was hysterically funny, brilliant, kind, caring and loved his family...perhaps even more that anyone I have ever met.
     Five or six years ago, I got to spend some “real” time with him.  It was only then I got a true glimpse of him beyond that wonderful exterior. It was a tiny piece, but significant nevertheless.  I really wish it would have been more than just a glimpse. 
      RIP dear sir. You will be missed.

I only had the opportunity to meet with Patrick twice but the impact he had on me is truly amazing. After the last meeting, which was only a few months ago in NH, he and I were walking to the reception area, talking about our families, Chicago vs Boston, and a few other topics.  After the meeting was over, I had a happy feeling that he and I, because we were the same age, would be talking shop and bragging about our families for years to come.

I've been thinking about Patrick often over the past few days.  I found him to be a remarkable person and he had a big impact on me in a very short amount of time.  I wish that I had the opportunity to get to know him better.

My deepest, deepest condolences to his family.  

Patrick embodied the meaning of the term “mentor” better than anyone that I have worked with or known in my life.  He was calm and caring.  He listened intently.  His intellect and quick wit always impressed everyone around him.  Over our 12+ years working together each day, Patrick helped me grow immensely in many ways.  I am forever thankful.  His lessons and his friendship will never be forgotten.  I am truly heartbroken for his loss, and I hope that there is some small peace for everyone in knowing how many lives he touched.   And that his memory and legacy will live on.

Patrick was so effortlessly kind and gave off such a powerfully positive energy. He was so humble, honest, intelligent and genuine. Just the kind of guy you could have a 30 second conversation with and you’d still leave smiling and feeling like the world was a better place because he was in it. He was truly a gift to everyone around him and will be missed.

I am truly sorry for your loss.  Patrick’s quick wit and keen intellect was always a guiding presence in the office.  A true gentleman.

I was one of the team members who was lucky enough to help Patrick plan his travel through his job.  He was a really nice guy,  There were several of us who worked with him and his assistants who are also wonderful.  We will miss him.

Patrick, you raised the bar with your high moral standards, always seeking truth and doing what is right, both at home and in career life.  You had a way of elevating those around you, putting others first, yet, I always felt you were the one that made all of us a little bit better, just by your presence. Your intellect, sense of humor and friendship were always uplifting, even through the pain you were experiencing.
You, Kari and your kids have all been such a big part of our lives and we wish the best for all of you and pray that when we meet, again, we can enjoy these same special moments and let you know just how much you were missed. 





I am so sorry about your loss.  Patrick's life impacted so many people in a positive way.  I will miss his advice and humor a lot. 

I remember Patrick well. This is quite a shock to me and it saddens me greatly. He rapidly changed his life for the better when I saw him regularly. He was an inspiration and a very kind and generous man. I’ll hold his family in the Light.

The thing I remember the most is Patrick’s strength, and how he was very focused on his goals. 
He told me to hold on to our group! This is a good place  to be, I guess he just couldn’t take it anymore. All the pain and suffering... I learned a lot about life from him, in a short time. A great man, A great guy, a true friend.. 
I never knew how much he may had been holding  on too inwardly, but I do know he was suffering.. He mentioned how much pain he had to endure  on occasions.
 I felt bad for him... 
It’s such a shock that he’s gone. I will really, truly miss him, we all will!!
