
Morris Handman, passed away surrounded by his loving family and friends. Beloved husband of the late Luby, nee Rivkin. Wonderful brother of the late Rebecca (Max), Joe (Gladys). Loving father of Larry and Shelly. Beloved grandfather of Lauren and Alana. Uncle of Louise (Jerry) Goldblatt, Donald (Gail) Dekoven, Francine (Amy) Rivkin and Debbie (Bruce) Haggarty. Morry, together with his dearest wife Luby owned and created Harper Leather Goods Manufacturing Company in 1955. Harper was sold in 1983 at which point Morry and Luby retired to travel, enjoy life and the fruits of their labors. He was a Cantor at Congregation Khilath Israel in Jeffrey Manor for 10 years and a member of their Board of Education. He belonged to American Jewish Congress, AIPAC, World Jewish Congress, the American Friends of Hebrew University, JUF, the Junior Cancer League and Co-President of Park Synagogue serving on its board. Morry was a generous kind, compassionate, selfless and loving human being who will be dearly missed. Graveside services Thursday, 11:30am at Glen Oak Cemetery, Mannheim Rd and Roosevelt Rd, Hillside, IL. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson Foundation or AIPAC.
