Lilli and Jim were among the first to welcome my family to NSCI; little did I know that was just what they loved to do - they welcomed everyone.  They welcomed all of us to the High Holidays, they welcomed those known and unknown to sit with them, to eat with them, to pray with them.  They welcomed all of us to witness the love and joy they shared in one another's company and the pride they took in their ever-growing family.  Both of them served our country in uniform during WWII and thereafter through good deeds too numerous to list.  While I spent hours in Lilli's company via WNSCI, I can't separate the two of them in my mind - nor should they be.

I am so very sorry to learn about Lilli's passing.  My husband Harvey and I had the good fortune of being quite friendly with Lilli and Jim.  They attended many of our mitzvahs, we shared many meals and concerts together at their home and at NSCI, and we were planning to sail across the Atlantic together right before COVID.  

When Lilli wanted online help I spent many a time with her--she was always an excellent learner.  She particularly wanted to post her food and travel photos, which I taught her as well.  Subsequently, Lilli joined the online group KitchenQuarantine with my help and posted frequently.  I particularly remember her bagels and other amazingly beautiful baked goods.

I find it difficult to believe that I will not see her perennially smiling,  face, perfectly coifed, with impeccable makeup.  And she was always well dressed with distinctive jewelry--each piece with a story, just like the countless tales that she conveyed.

I will miss Lilli's friendship, sense of humor, big heart and caring ways.  She exemplified everything Jewish in her life and her memory will continue to be a role model in mine.
