Dr. Harold Mendelsohn, 95, renowned sociologist. Husband of the late Irene; father of Dr. Susan Mendelsohn (Michael Rosen); grandfather of Ilise and Lucas Rosen; brother of Irwin (late Barbara) Mendelsohn. Harold was genius level smart, incredibly empathetic and disarmingly charming. In addition to having his Ph.D. in Sociology and being Dean of Social Sciences at the University of Denver, he was also the recipient of an Emmy, a consultant for the CIA, a former president of the American Association for Public Opinion Research and the author of a number of books still being taught today. These books include such titles as Minorities and the Police: Confrontation in America , Mass Entertainment, Polls, Television and the New Politics and The People Choose a President: Influences on Voter Decision Making. He was a great man and a role model for how to grow old with grace and dignity. Harold will be much missed.
