David Ingall, MD of Highland Park, IL and Naples FL passed away peacefully on February 2 at the age of 92; beloved husband of Carol (Kreeger) Ingall and the late Edith (Roth) Ingall (d. 1974); devoted father of Tina Ingall (Glenn Golden), Lewis Ingall (Shawn), Seth Ingall (Kim), David Hoffman (Monique), Cindy Knapp (David) and Michael Hoffman; devoted grandfather of Emily, Eric, Drew, Scott, Grayson, Harrison, Reed and Estella.
Dr. Ingall was a recognized leader in the field of Pediatrics. He was Professor Emeritus of the Departments of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University School of Medicine and Chairman Emeritus of Pediatrics at Evanston Hospital. Earlier, he was the head of Neonatology at Boston City Hospital.
Over his entire career Dr. Ingall was known for developing high functioning teams of pediatricians across many sub-specialties and being a tenacious department head and mentor with deep commitment to his colleagues and medical school students. Dr. Ingall was also a regular contributor to Remington and Klein’s Infectious Diseases of the Fetus and Newborn Infant, a well-respected neonatal textbook on infectious diseases.
Dave was an avid sports enthusiast and fan of all Boston sports teams. With his wife, Carol, he enjoyed music at Ravinia and the CSO, playing tennis and traveling in Europe. He also loved reading and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.
Funeral service Monday, February 6, 11:00 AM at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Road, Glencoe, IL 60022. A private burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
