In her 44 years, she never met a stranger. She has been described by many who love her as a bright light, a bright spot, having a sweet disposition, gracious, welcoming, kind to all, and genuinely curious. Claudia loved to sing; her favorite color was green; she enjoyed practicing Spanish and spending time at the beaches of Lake Michigan. She dealt with health challenges for her entire life, always with grace, grit, positivity, and resilience.
Claudia graduated from New Trier High School, attended Illinois School for the Visually Impaired, and graduated from the Pace Program at National Lewis University. She was a volunteer for 10 years with the NorthShore Senior Center for the Escorted Transportation Program. She worked in disabilities awareness training as a JJ’s List player for Search Inc. By all accounts, she is the longest serving member of the St. Augustine’s choir. Claudia was a Special Olympian, competing in tennis ball throw and 100-meter walking race. She was an avid participant with Center for Independent Futures, Evanston, and the social programming of Glencoe Youth Services.
Claudia is survived by her devoted parents Julia and Raymond, siblings Jake, Sam, Hillarie, Sarah, and Hannah, brother-in-law Mark, nephew Owen, niece Maya, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear, dear friends.
A memorial celebration of Claudia’s life will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, 11:00 AM at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 1140 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091 (847) 251-6922.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to St. Augustine's Music Fund to honor the joy Claudia felt as a member of the choir.
