Formerly of Pendleton, age 85, passed away on December 24, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Bonnie L. Wells; loving father of Linda Wells Ashton, Nancy (Steven Larson) Wells, and Gary (Deborah) Wells, and step-father of Michael (Elizabeth) Lombardo, Thomas (Melissa) Lombardo, and Laura (Kemper) Lewis; precious grandfather of Anders, Jonas, Kaelyn, Alexander, Haydn, Anthony (Chelsie), Thomas (Annalise), Jenna (Hunter), Kamryn, Kaden, and five great- grandchildren. Mr. Wells is survived by his dear sister Sarah (Robert) Faulks, his former spouse Carol (Chester) Dombrowski, and many treasured nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, William A. and Gertrude Wells, and sisters Virginia (Richard) Symmes and Martha Jean Galbo.
Mr. Wells was VP of Finance at Beechwood Continuing Care for over 45 years, a member of the New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging, and chairperson of the Upstate Financial Management Council. In 2013, Beechwood expressed their gratitude for Mr. Wells’ service by revealing its new hospice facility as the Hospice Buffalo Wells House.
Mr. Wells served the WNY United Methodist Church Finance Committee and Trinity United Methodist Church for over 20 years. He was a devoted Christian and a dedicated member of The Chapel at Crosspoint.
Mr. Wells was honored to serve in the United States Marine Corps, graduating from the U.S. Navy Air Controlman School and achieving the rank of Corporal. He was a graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business School and Kenmore High School.
Family will be present on Tuesday, January 16th, from 4-7 PM at Perna, Dengler & Roberts Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Road in Williamsville; service will follow at 7 PM. Friends invited.
