WISNIEWSKI - Walter J., Jr. Walter slipped away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 5:30 AM in the company of his daughter, Mary Veronica Wisniewski of Williamsville NY, and son, Michael Wisniewski of Vermont who spoke to him all night about his life. The love he gave was large and was returned, measure for measure. His body was progressively broken over the years, but his warmth and good spirits, though sorely tested, never faded. Last weekend he enjoyed a visit from his two grandsons, Aaron and Sam Wisniewski. All phone calls to Michael referred to them as “those handsome gentlemen” and ended by sending love to “Your beautiful wife, Janine.” Discussion about his nightly brandy ensued. He was predeceased by his lovely wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Moskal) in 2007 and his brother, Dan Wisniewski (wife Marcie). Born: Buffalo, March 6, 1927, lost his mother at age 2. Newspaper boy, soda jerk, Navy veteran who witnessed kamikaze attacks. Lasted one week bolting tailgates on Ford pickups before be became a skilled lithographer and rose to foreman. A tinkerer of all things mechanical. Visiting hours 5-8 PM, Tuesday, March 4 at PERNA, DENGLER, ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 1671 Maple Rd., Williamsville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, 9:30 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, followed by entombment at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery on Union Road. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice Buffalo who treated him and the family royally.
