Williamsville: Entered into rest peacefully on July 29th, 2023 at age 86.
Predeceased by his parents: Nelson and Gladys Hopkins, sisters: Barbara Buck and Janice Wangman; and brother Robert Hopkins.
Richard was a graduate of the University of Buffalo and proudly served in the US Army. Richard had a passion for boating, golfing, gardening, playing poker, traveling the world, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
His lifelong ambition was to make people happy and realize their true value in life. He had a contagious laugh and sense of humor that was appreciated by all that surrounded him.
Richard is survived by his loving partner and wife of 38 years, Patricia; his son Kevin; daughter Kristin (Richard) Brewer; stepsons: Matt (Rebecca) Hogan, Michael (Christy) Hogan, Brian (Shoko) Hogan; grandchildren: Samantha Brewer, Sean Hogan, Kayleigh, Kiera and Kelsie Hogan, Hina and Miyo Hogan; brother-in-law Phillip (Mary) Gallagher; sister-in-law Carol Hopkins; extended family members and many countless friends.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 26th from 10 am-1 pm at Perna, Dengler, Roberts Funeral Home located at 1671 Maple Road, Williamsville, NY 14221. A Memorial Service will follow at 1 pm at Perna, Dengler, Roberts Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Buffalo.
