I worked with Ray when he was a collector at Williamsville before he went over to the machine repair side. After I transferred to the North Bridge I would run into him after he became a manager for the Niagara Section. He was always a delight to speak to and I know his smile will be missed. Dear Ray, I may not have known you as well or for as long as Dan, but I will always remember how welcoming you were to me! You just had that way about you, the infectious, hearty laugh, and that wonderful boyish grin, and that is the picture I will always keep in my mind. I am truly sorry that you never made it out to Wyoming to visit, but I think maybe next spring/summer we will plant a pine tree in your honor. To my Best Friend, Ray. I am very saddened by the loss of your life. I have always loved you like a brother and feel that a part of me has been taken away. We have been inseparable throughout our younger years and we have shared a lot of amazing life experiences. I am thankful to have many wonderful memories of you. I remember the day that you moved into my neighborhood. We were both 4 years old and quickly became friends. We played hockey together at our backyard ice rinks, we swam in each others pools, and we climbed "The Dome". As we grew older, our friendship grew stronger. We worked together at the "Stop-n-Go" and the "Juice Factory", we went to ECC together, we cruised the strip in my Jetstar 88, went to concerts and had parties in our basements, and we ruled the "foosball table" at McGillicutties for many years. The list goes on and on. It seemed that whatever was going on in Cheektowaga, we were a part of it. We were able to make fun out of nothing and always enjoyed each others company. I was always able to count on you for anything. You always had my back and we always watched out for each other. As the years went on, I moved away from Buffalo and you stayed there, but we managed to stay in touch as often as possible. We were both each others "best man" at our weddings and we both married wonderful, caring women. Although we ended up miles apart, we always called each other on our birthdays to catch up with things. This is something I always cherished, and while I will not be able to speak with you on the phone this coming year, I will have to communicate with you in a different way. You did a fantastic job of raising a terrific family and I am proud of you for that. You have accomplished many great things in life and for many of us have made the world a better place. I will sincerely miss you and will think of you often. I find some comfort knowing that you are now in a better place and at peace with yourself. I also know that you are still watching over me. I am so very sorry that weather issues and flight cancellations have rendered it impossible for me to attend your funeral service, but please know I have spent the day reminiscing about our friendship and times together and praying for strength for your family during this time. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have you as a friend and wish it was still possible to share our life together. Until we meet again, buddy, rest in peace. Raymond, my friend, my brother. We had so much more to do, so much more to see. we have been buddy's since High School and it was easy to want to be your friend. You were always ready a lend a hand to anybody who asked for just about anything. I am proud to have been part of your life journey from our early days of typical young adulthood (well, maybe not that typical) through our marriages and the birth of our children. We were there for each other after we lost our parents and we were there for each other for all the good times, and I could always count on a summer bonfire or a call to lunch at John and Mary's just to catch up on what we have been doing. I love you my friend and I am going to miss you terribly. God Speed and please make sure you hold a spot for me in your next NASCAR pool.
