Joseph Frank Pecora passed away on November 11, 2021 in Saint Augustine, Florida following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia with his beloved family present. He was a revered husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Tammy (née Laufer); his three children, Noelle Pecora Hickey, Danielle Pecora, and Dietrich (Amanda) Jacobs; and thee grandchildren, Ronan Hickey, Enzo Pecora, and Elliana Jacobs.
Joseph was born in Buffalo, NY and attended Bishop Neumann High School and SUNY Buffalo. He was an Independent Insurance Agent for 32 years and was the Executive Vice President for the Petrella Insurance Agency. He served for one term as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Western NY and served on the Board of Directors for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of NY.
Joseph enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends and was known for his wit and ability to share a laugh, a good glass of wine, and cigars with friends. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed rooting for his beloved Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres. He enjoyed playing golf and was a long-time member of the KenTon Twilight Golf League.
Joseph is also survived by his sister, Linda (Michael) Donovan and his cousins Nicholas Rodo and Anne Marie Gajewski (Joseph’s favorite polako Steve Gajewski), all of Buffalo. Joseph is also survived by his in-laws, Joseph and Lucille Laufer, sister-in-law Sherrie Laufer, and brother-in-law Mark (Jill) Laufer, also of Buffalo. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Frank and Rosalie Pecora, and his cherished son-in-law, Keith Hickey. Joseph was loved, and will be missed, by many.
Family and Friends may call Thursday Dec. 2nd from 4-7 pm at the Perna Dengler Roberts Funeral Home 1671 Maple Rd., Williamsville where a Celebration of Joe's life will follow.
