Dear Nancy,

I never had the opportunity to meet either of my grandfathers, so Bud being 15 years older than my dad made him the closest thing to a grandpa I have ever known. The only thing that keeps repeating in my head is, "What a privilege it was to have know him". I cannot express that sentiment enough, and I'm sure everyone whose life he touched can agree. They truly don't make men better than him. Every holiday, picnic, and Bills game, he was just an absolute pleasure to be with. His intelligence, quick wit, and loving heart will be missed so dearly.  I am exceptionally grateful for the guidance, friendship, and comfort he provided my dad throughout their lifetime, especially during the passing of my mother and Grandma JoAnne. My dad would often talk about how golf trips with his  big brother felt just like being on vacation with himself. Those two just genuinely loved being with each other and making memories with their families. Uncle Bud was the patriarch of our family and while a presence as strong as his will never be gone, it will surely be missed greatly. Rest in peace Uncle Bud, you were so loved and are so missed.

Dearest, Nancy & family,

From Buds caregivers, we would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the wonderful time that we got to share with you all, and for the opportunity to care for Bud. He truly was an amazing person and we all had so much admiration for him. The love he had for his family he expressed daily in one way or another! Bud would get so excited when he knew he was going to see his friends and family. We all played a role in fighting buds illness together! We thank you all for being an amazing support system and helping us help bud along the way. The Wilcox family treated all of us as family and we are most grateful. Special thanks to Buds beloved Nancy for working hand in hand with all of us. The love Nancy and Bud shared with each other and for their children was both inspirational and beautiful! We will miss Bud dearly and we will think of him often. We wish you all health and happiness and as bud always said from the army “one more day and a wake up, and I’m outta here” Rest In Peace Bud.

My deepest condolences to all of Colonel Wilcox's family, friends and loved ones.
As a kid, I was quite intimidated by him. I don't know how we managed to throw water balloons off the balcony in Wiesloch at unsuspecting Fischfest attendees without getting busted.
As an adult, my fondest memory is seeing the soft side of the Colonel when, apparently we were boring company when they visited our house, and so he enjoyed a nice slumber in a chair by the pool.
May you all be comforted by memories of the good times.

My brother Bud was a man of tremendous integrity, kindness and generosity. He is missed tremendously by his entire family and he is irreplaceable. We will all be together again and forever.  I'm sure it was a wonderful reunion at the gates of Heaven. God bless and keep you. Rest in peace knowing you have helped us all to move forward and follow in very good footsteps, but never to fill your shoes. You are loved now and forever.

The Rome cousins are sad to hear about Bud's passing. He and Buck were truly wonderful men. I'm sorry we didn't get to see Bud again before he passed. You are all loved and we are here if you need anything ❤️
