After attending Bishop Ryan High School, Edmund enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and later attended Michigan State University, where he graduated with an MBA in 1966. Edmund made his career in food and hospitality, serving in nearly all aspects of the food industry, from working on a farm as a boy in Cheektowaga, NY to managing restaurant chains from a high rise in Manhattan. He was the owner of a bakery and cafe, as well as a consulting company that took him across the states and to various countries. Edmund was the President of the Buffalo Chapter of the New York Restaurant Association in 1984 and was known for applying creative problem-solving approaches to business and everyday life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth [nee. Karnyski], with whom he shared a love of family, culture, and creativity, his three children, Amy [Kevin, deceased] Robertson, David [Miwako Kanno] Michalski and Debra [David] Niland, as well as his grandchildren, Amberlee and Bryan Robertson, Edmund and Hana Michalski, and Andrew, Sara and Matthew Niland. Edmund also leaves behind his sister and friend, Ellen Nowak, and loving nieces and nephews.
