Born on October 27, 1930, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elwyn and Lillian McClenathan.
After graduating from the North Park Business School in 1949, Clare worked at the Prudential Insurance Company as a stenographer for 7 years. In 1956, she started working for Bell Aerospace as a Principal Stenographer and retired 38 years later as an Executive Secretary.
Once retired, Clare enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, volunteering at the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Gift Shop, and helping out with the Bell Girl’s Club. She especially enjoyed her weekly lunches with her gal pals.
Clare is survived by her son, Dale (Jean) Orndorff; daughter, Darcy (Chris) Hitchcock; granddaughter, Erica (Doug) Boehm; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Landon; favorite niece, Laurie (Darryl) Kosut; and many cousins. Besides her parents, Clare was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Foit.
Family and friends may visit PERNA, DENGLER, ROBERTS FUNERAL HOME, 1671 Maple Rd., Williamsville, NY 14221 on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 4-6:30pm. A memorial service will follow at 6:30pm.
