ALICE BURNS, 95, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2022. Born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Henry Clayton and Catherine Winfield, she was predeceased by her sister Shirley Spizzano, her daughter Deborah Burns Bernier, and son David W. Burns (Rebecca). She is survived by her loving husband Donald W. and daughters Mary E. Burns(Bob Murphy) and Kathy Schrecongost (Dan).
Alice grew up in Buffalo and was married there to her devoted husband Don. She lived with her growing family in Buffalo and Rochester, NY and Charlottesville, VA. She and Don spent many happy years retired in Bradenton, FL.
Alice was an early teacher, lifelong homemaker, enthusiastic organist, avid bridge player, accomplished needleworker, orchid lover and devoted wife and mother. She was loved by many for her generosity, loving heart and curious and patient spirit.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Philip, Gabrielle, Carrie, Kris, Carl, Margaret, Jordan and Marilyn; nephews Paul and John(Lisa) Spizzano, and great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home on September 20th at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
