Dr. Alan McCulloch, a retired East Aurora dentist, died last Thursday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. He was 93.
Born in Scranton, Pa., he attended Clark’s Summit High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Muhlenberg College. After graduating from the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, he served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Returning from service, Dr. McCulloch established a dental practice in East Aurora. He was one of the original owners of the medical building on Center Street, and retired in 1998.
Dr. McCulloch was an active member of the East Aurora Country Club, Buffalo Ski Club, Brookfield Country Club and Calvary Episcopal Church, where he was an usher for many years.
A Williamsville resident since 1984, he was a woodcarver and made models of birds and ducks.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, the former Eleanor Joan Fleischhauer; four daughters, Dana Fleischhauer, Jo Fleischhauer, Amy Wertheim and Mary; a son, William; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. July 22 in Calvary Episcopal Church, 20 Milton St. at South Cayuga Road, Williamsville.
