Reba Cordelia Keel Roberson passed away Monday February 25, 2013. Born in Everetts on February 26,1939, she was the daughter of the late Jimmy "Crow" Keel and Bertha Taylor Keel. She attended the local schools in Everetts and graduated from
Robersonville High School in 1957. That same year she went to work as a switchboard operator for Carolina Telephone in Weldon, eventually retiring from the company after over 44 years of service. In 1961 she married Johnny H Roberson of Gold Point.
Reba is survived by her only son, John Henry "Hank" Roberson Jr of Smithfield. After retiring from the telephone company, Reba enjoyed working in the florist with her son, spending time at her home at Emerald Isle, playing bingo, attending local dances and concerts. She loved animals and enjoyed spoiling Suzie her Min-Spitz and her Yorkie Henri. Reba was a member of Everetts Christian Church but recently attended First Presbyterian Church of Smithfield.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Ellis Gray, James Dalmond, a nephew Ellis Gray Jr and a niece Denise. The family will receive friends at Biggs Funeral Home from 6- 8:00 PM on Friday. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel in Williamston; burial will follow at Everetts Cemetery.
