Harry Smith died suddenly August 24 at the age of 79. He was born in Albany, NY, on March 19, 1933, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Wearing in 2002, and his brother, Howard Smith. He is survived by daughters, Kathleen Smith (Van Vanerian) of Plymouth, MI, and Karen Smith (Brad Kloss) of Alabama; and six grandchildren, Charlie, Emily, Alexandra, Jovanna, Veronica, and Natasha.
Harry was retired after being employed as the 2nd Vice President of Corporate Trust Division of National Bank of Detroit.
He loved traveling on trains and had a general love of all things connected with trains.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 28 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and again from 3 to 7 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston Chapel. Another visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 29 at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 37000 6 Mile Rd., Livonia, MI from 2 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 23901 Elmira, Redford, MI 48239 on Thursday August 30, with visitation at 10:30 a.m., followed by the service at11 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights, MI.
