Rose Marie Vorce (Aubuchon), 90, passed away on January 24, 2024 in Williamston, Michigan. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 21, 1933 to Kenneth and Rose Aubuchon. Rose was a graduate of Webberville High School. She married Kenneth Gordon Vorce on April 6, 1953 and they were married 68 years until his passing in 2019. She was an active member and volunteer of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rose lived in the Williamston/Webberville area and raised five children.
Rose is survived by four children, Gordon (Donna) Vorce, Theresa (Thomas) Grover, Lynnet (John) Caras, and Randy (Elizabeth) Vorce; son-in-law, Randy Howlett; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Karen Howlett; grandson, Charles and siblings, Jean Rosen and Eddie Aubuchon.
Rose was an accomplished seamstress, sewing anything from simple clothing, wedding dresses, and quilts to arts and crafts items. It wasn’t uncommon to see all five of her children lined up at church with matching clothing. She also was a “homesteader”, making and processing most of the food they ate. Rose enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening, and especially family time.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in Williamston, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, February 2, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church at 11:00 am, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose's name may be made to St. Mary Catholic School.
