Laura Ellen Rathbun

Gaylord, Michigan

Born January 7, 1971, the daughter of Charles Joseph Hawkins and Glenna Sue Batdorff. Laura passed away suddenly of a heart attack on January 27, 2013, at age 42.

Laura was a graduate of Holt and Diamondale in 1989, and Kirtland Community College in 2011 with an associate’s degree in Nursing with honors. Laura loved to read, was a loving mother to her daughters, and enjoyed watching movies with her family. She was always a generous person and willing to share her home to those in need. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

Her surviving family are Chris Rathbun husband, daughters Keirra Mae, Katryna Marie and Cheyenne Skye Rathbun, Christian Rathbun step-son, Tiffany Campbell step-daughter and step-grandson Gage Campbell. Mother Glenna Sue (Bob) Richter, father Charles Hawkins, brother Glenn (Kathy) Hawkins, step-sisters Shannon (Sam) Richter and Stacie (Eric) Smith. Many aunts, uncles and cousins, brothers and sister-in-law Dan & Julie Rathbun, Carol (Jeff) Cook, and grandfather Rolland Batdorff.

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 1st at 11am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, with Robert Miller officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Funeral Home.
