Age 83, passed away peacefully May 28, 2012, joining his beloved wife, Ilene “Honzie”, who preceded him in death March 18, 2012.
Born in Detroit on September 7, 1928, Jack was a born salesman, working for Delmonte Foods and retiring from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
Jack will be remembered for his lifetime of seemingly unending energy, quick sense of humor, and as a consummate story and joke teller. His greatest fulfillment was the mutual devotion and love of his children and grandchildren. He pursued a life of faith and service working with the Society of St. Vincent DePaul.
Jack was also preceded in death by infant son Michael. Surviving children are Michelle “Mickey” (Jerry) Ellsworth; sons James “Jim” (Mary Kay), Kevin (Liz) and Brian (Kathy); 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, with an additional 4 arriving this year; and sister, Velma Colomina.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 1, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 157 High Street, Williamston, with Rev. Peter J. Clark officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 4-7 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle Street, Williamston, with the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
