Charles George Cosner (Chuck) was born in Findlay, Ohio to Avery Byron Cosner and Zella Mae Sharninghouse on May 13,1941. As a young man he attended McComb High School in Ohio where he was an avid athlete, editor of the 1959 yearbook and the valedictorian of his graduating class. He later attended Bowling Green State University where he studied Chemistry and found brotherhood in Sig Ep.
After college, Chuck worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber and Foster Grant. Fed up with the cold weather, he moved out to Southern California in the 70’s, where he framed houses and honed his handyman skills. At Formulabs Inc. he pioneered wire coating technology for deep water use. He developed a passion for travel and challenged himself in the great outdoors hiking mountains, walking across the Anza-Borrego desert, and backpacking the Grand Canyon.
In the early 80’s, Chuck accepted a job at Maurer Shumaker in Michigan, purchased a home with his wife Carolyn Vieira in Rochester Hills, and became the proud father of three children. As a semi-professional golfer he taught us to “feather” the drive. He was the ultimate chemist plotting a secret formula for any problem, but never turned down the opportunity to spend time with his family and friends. He was the handy-man, the life of the party, a father, a brother, a grandfather, a golfing buddy, an excellent baker, and a great friend. He found his peace on February 10th, 2022 and will forever be missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Eddie and Keith. He is survived by his brother Robert, his sister Carol, three children (Jaclyn, Joshua, and Joel), two grandchildren, and a field full of extended family and friends who have enjoyed their time on this earth with him.
