Alice was a kind and gracious lady endowed with many gifts from her Heavenly Father and well-loved throughout her long life. She had a soft heart for anyone who was suffering and made it her mission to relieve that suffering by sharing herself and her resources. Along side of Bernard, they gave freely to the needs of children worldwide by participating in feeding programs and clean water wells in places where there was no clean water to drink, adhering to the wisdom of Proverbs 19:17 "He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done." Refusing any adulation from those who praised her talents or gracious gifts, she instead praised the Lord saying, “I have no gifts or talents except those that God bestowed on me.”
Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bernard in 2011, her son, Theodore, in 2003, and a sister, Lucille in 1934. Her only brother, Harlan Rice, preceded her in death four days earlier on March 20, 2021. Alice is survived by her daughter Sherry (Mike) Shockley of Potterville; son Byron (Cindy) Russell of Mason, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
