Adam was a magical and amazing musician who played guitar, piano, viola, banjo, dobro, clarinet and was a great singer. While on the Dansville High School Band he played the clarinet which looked like a toy in his hands, he also played violin which, was his real instrumental love. He played many shows across Michigan as a solo acoustic performer. Adam also played hundreds of show as a member of his bands Axxess, The Floods, The Due Rights and From Big Sur. Over the past 25 years, Adam wrote and recorded dozens of songs leaving behind an extraordinary catalog of music. Adam was a skilled basketball player, he was a 3 sport first team All-State athlete, ranked as a High School All-American Honorary player and a member of the Dansville High School Hall of Fame. Adam was a walk on basketball player at the University of Michigan, played on the Lansing Community College Basketball Team and played on the Wayne State University Team when they won a conference championship and ranked top 5 in the country. Although Adam was athletically gifted he was very humble regarding his talent. His true passion was in the arts, music, fashion design, movies, spending time with friends. He loved to laugh and have deep conversations with family and friends. Adam will be remembered for his kind and loving heart and his zest for life. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Horn; his father, Johnie J. (Carolyn) Jones of Atlanta, GA; his step-father, Ed (Brenda Finch) Gunn; brother, Justin (Elizabeth) Gunn; niece, Addison Gunn. Adam is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A Celebration of Adam’s life will be held on Saturday July 17, 2021 at 2pm in the new High School Gymnasium, Dansville, Michigan. Please join the family for food and continued fellowship at The Wooden Nickel following the memorial.
