He was preceded in death by his wife Millie; parents William and Veronica Kevit; a brother Ernest Kevit; and a sister, Eleanor Zaleskas.
Bill was a caring and kindhearted man. In 1942 Bill joined the United States Army and served in World War II, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Upon his return, he attended Drexel University in Philadelphia where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Bill was very proud of his Lithuanian heritage and met his wife Millie at a dance in a Lithuanian Hall, also in Philadelphia. He was employed by RCA and United Engineers as an Accountant for most of his career. Bill thoroughly enjoyed his hobbies including reading, playing bridge, going to the beach, and serving in various homeowners associations as well as earning his real estate agents license. Bill was most passionate about his family. He was always in attendance at friend and family functions, as well as church functions during his retirement. He is survived by his son, William A. Kevit and wife Dru; daughters Diana Kregiel and husband, Carl, and Barbara Blankenship and husband Don; niece Jeanne Koniers and husband Bill; grandchildren Zack (Trish) Kevit, Conor Kevit, Amanda Kregiel, Elizabeth (Joseph) Bartol; and great-grandchildren, Brady Kevit and Casey Kevit.
A celebration of Bill’s life will take place at St. Therese Catholic Church at 4137 Portsmouth Blvd. Chesapeake, VA, on Tuesday, April 18th at 11 am.
