Samuel Waller Bowlin
July 16, 1938 – July 20, 2024

Samuel Waller Bowlin, 86, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on July 20, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Rachel Bowlin; his son, Neal Bowlin; and sister, Alice Bowlin.
Samuel graduated from VCU before working for the U.S. General Accounting Office as a Senior Executive Officer, as well as four years as the Director of the European Office, until his retirement. Samuel had a lifelong love of singing, golf and his family. He sang in multiple groups, including his church’s choir, The Virginia Symphony Chorus, Patriots Colony’s choir as well as a barbershop quartet. He participated in multiple different organizations, including being a founding member of Wit and Wisdom Chowder Society and Ford’s Colony’s MGA group. He also served as president of not only Ford’s Colony’s Homeowners Association, but also Ford’s Colony’s Country Club. As a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church for over 31 years, he served as an elder and a deacon.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Jacqueline A. Bowlin; his sons, Bruce and Brian Bowlin; his daughter, Amy Bowlin; his sisters, Evelyn Lowery (Harold), Anne Reyna (Don), and Nancy Coffman; his brother Bruce Bowlin (Betty); brother-in-law, Louis Avery (Sandy); sister-in-law, Cindy Bowser (John), nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews, and his precious dog, Quinn.
His service will be held August 10 at 1 PM at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in Samuel‘s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/), the Alzheimer’s Association (https://act.alz.org/) or Williamsburg Presbyterian‘s music program (https://www.mywpc.org/worship/music/).
