

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, God in His infinite wisdom called Olivia Dehavilland Brown home to eternal life. She was born on February 27, 1940, to the late Theodore and Elnora Roberts. Olivia was their only child.
Olivia was born and raised in Williamsburg, Virginia. She accepted Christ at a very young age and was baptized. She attended school in James City County “Bruton Heights.” Olivia was a faithful member of Little Zion Baptist Church for many years. She later left Little Zion and joined New Zion Baptist Church and became a member along with the true love of her life, Quinton (Buddy) Brown. Olivia served her new Church family as choir member.
She was well known and socially active. She was a member of the Lydia Dorcas Creative Sewing Circle. Olivia assisted in making hats for American Heart Associate Awareness; she assisted with making blankets for Williamsburg Hospice House; volunteered for the Salvation Army Christmas Teddy Bear Program; and participated in the YMCA Silver Slipper Program. She also was a member of the Blossomette Social Club.
Olivia was a hard worker. She retired from Eastern State Hospital and Colonial Williamsburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Quinton (Buddy) Brown and her son, Eddie Lamar Campbell.
Olivia leaves to cherish her memories: Willie W. Campbell; Gloria D. Pressey; Reginald R. Campbell (Rebecca); and Donald F. Campbell (Tashcha). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also, a loving and devoted Sister-In-Law, Glenice Lawson; and friend, Karen Stokes.
A visitation for Olivia will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia. A service will occur Monday, November 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Restoration Center, 6205 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, Virginia. A reception will follow Monday, November 6, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home.
