Mary Emma Whitney Wynne

Mary Emma Whitney Wynne, age 102, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023. She was born in Fullerton, Nebraska, and is preceded in death by her husband, Edmund “Bill” Wynne; parents, Jacob and Mary Whitney; and three brothers.

For 20 years, Mary followed her husband in the Navy, working as a homemaker but also as a secretary and bookkeeper. Upon retirement, she lived in Pennsylvania with her spouse until moving to Williamsburg in her later years after her husband passed. She loved cooking and knitting, which she kept up even until the end. She was also a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son, David Wynne (Georgine); daughter, Mary Cuper; grandchildren, Patricia Sipula (Tom), Michael Wynne (Rachel), Jonathan Cuper (Taryn); and great-grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, David, Devin, Colton, and Ian.

A service for Mary will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 16, 2023 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 7479 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Interment will occur at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Bill.
