Mary Elizabeth Radoye

Mary E. Radoye age 83, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, April 24, 2015. A local resident for the past 30 years, Mary was an award winning, tournament Bridge player and an active member of Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Mary was involved in United Methodist Women and a member of the Olive Casey Circle. She served as Chairman of her Circle and was UMW President from 1990-1992. Mary was a real estate agent and property manager for many years. In later years, Mary enjoyed making and sending cards to her family and friends. But most of all she loved her family; enjoying any occasion that she could to be with them.

Mary was born on February 19, 1932 in Clarkston, Michigan to the late Edward and Gladys Porritt. She is the beloved wife of the the late William J. Radoye; loving mother of Carolyn Radoye, Judy (Larry) Knight, James (Crystal) Radoye, Doug (Dani) Radoye, and Ann Iverson; adored grandmother of Ryan Ward, Megan (Kelly) Martin, Shawn(Leah) Hall, Eric (Ashley) Hall, Jason Knight, Douglas and Becca Radoye, and Nicholas, Tyler, and Billy Iverson; great-grandmother of Elizabeth and Sydney Martin, Kai and Everly Hall, and Jordan and Logan Hall; sister of William (Joan) Porritt, Sally (John) Curry, Elaine (Robert) Sharrock, Jean (Gary) Kimberly, and Robert (Ruth Ann) Porritt. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and her dearly loved dog Lucy.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188, (757) 565-1141 where a funeral service will be conducted on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
