OBITUARY
Mary Elizabeth Dye
August 13, 1942 – May 1, 2023
IN THE CARE OF
Nelsen Williamsburg
On May 1, 2023, Mary Elizabeth Dye was reunited with her Heavenly Father. Her immediate family was at her side as she peacefully passed. She was 80 years old.
Born in Obion County, TN, in 1942, Mary married her high school sweetheart, Bud, and they had 61 beautiful years together. They lived in Hartland, MI, and Williamsburg, VA, for most of their life together, and more recently moved to Bristol, VA.
Mary is survived by her husband, Bud; their son and his wife, Steve and Sharon Dye; and grandchildren, Mark Sobczak, Jacob Sobczak, Glori King, Kasey Dye, and Bailey Dye; in addition to her sister, Laura Lester and her husband Jerry Lester. She was preceded in death by their daughter, Karen Elaine Dye Sobczak, and her husband, Keith Martin Sobczak, along with her parents, Zelma Bell and Boon Bell, and four other siblings.
A woman of grace and dignity, Mary leaves behind a great legacy. She was the cook, the hostess, the comforter, and the keeper of secrets for how to do just about everything. She was immensely proud of her family, leaving nothing behind but wonderful memories. She will be greatly missed.
Today, she dances with angels and has been reunited with all of her family and friends that have passed before her.
The family wishes to extend an invitation to her viewing at Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, VA, on Monday, May 8, from 6 pm to 8 pm. A service will be held on Tuesday, May 9 at 11 am at Nelsen Funeral Home, followed immediately by a burial service at Williamsburg Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family has created a donation page at marydyefund.com.
