He was born June 2nd, 1960 in Michigan. Mark was preceded in death by his father Michael Anthony Moreno, mother Margaret Judith Ambrosio, and his younger sister Michelle Moreno. Mark was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He then went on to enlist in the U.S. Army in 1982, where he served 4 years and was honorably discharged in 1986. Mark went to Virginia Western Community College in Roanoke, VA where he received his Associates degree in Business Management while working full time in Restaurant Management. From this humble beginning, he began what would be a very long and impactful career in sales management at foodservice distributor PYA Monarch. Here, he proved that you could “Make Winning a Habit” each and every day.
Mark had over 30 years of successful experience in the restaurant and foodservice community, on which he made a lasting impression. In March of 2013 Mark started his own company doing what he loves; helping independent restaurants achieve maximum economic value from their business. Mark wholeheartedly believed in “Delivering value first, not value added. Every business proposition should have value built in, not added later.” He was known as a patriot, self-made man, role model, mentor, avid reader and lifelong learner, and ‘sales guy’ par excellence. Mark exuded confidence, positivity, and inspired many in their career and life. However, through all of Marks business achievements and accolades, he believed his greatest achievement in life was his family; wife Susan, and sons Michael, Joseph, and Thomas. He was a very supporting father, whether it was driving them to tournaments or coaching their teams. Mark is also survived by his brother, Sal Ambrosio; niece, Amanda Ambrosio Taylor. There will be a Celebration of Life held at 419 West on March 4th from 5-8 PM located at 3865 Electric Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Feeding America Southwest Virginia, (https://www.faswva.org/home/donate/) in Marks honor.
