Madeline K. Daniels, 101, passed away on June 22, 2017. Madeline was born in Alpena, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, where she earned her degree in nursing. Her first career began early in 1942 as a stewardess for TWA, flying on DC-3s. On Nov. 17, 1942, she married the love of her life, Charles Daniels, and cherished that marriage for over 74 years. Madeline lived most of her adult life in Wilmington, DE and Great Falls, VA, where she was always active in her community and her church. Madeline and Chuck’s home was always open to visitors, so much so that the family referred to it as the Bed and Breakfast of the east coast. While in Great Falls, she became a very successful and respected real estate agent in the northern Virginia area. However, above everything else, she loved family and devoted her life to her husband Chuck and four children. Most recently, Madeline and Chuck resided at the Brookdale Retirement Community in Williamsburg.
Madeline was predeceased by her son, Charles T. Daniels and her husband, Charles J. Daniels. Survivors include daughter, Mary Boxer and husband Gary, son Richard Daniels and wife Sandi, and daughter Ann Dahl and husband Dan. In addition, she has five grandchildren, Lynne, Jenny, Richard, Randy, Robert, and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral mass and interment will take place on July 6 at 2 PM at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg.
