He was born on August 26, 1945 in Virginia, Illinois. After graduating from high school in 1962, Lonnie joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California from 1962-1966.
When he completed his service in the Navy, Lonnie began his 40+ year career in the restaurant business, working in positions in management and as a chef, retiring from Two Rivers Country Club in August, 2010.
Lonnie enjoyed working on DIY projects around the house and working in his garden. He was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed reading pictorial books on foreign cities and history. He loved feeding all the wild animals in the yard (as well as the neighbors dogs), and riding around the neighborhood on his beloved scooter. His family will miss his fantastic cooking, particularly around the holidays. He always had a smile on his face and was known as the life of the party.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sophia Logue; sister, Wanda; brothers Jim and Ray; and another sister, Doris.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Penny; his daughter, Jennifer Nielsen (John), and two grandchildren, Eva and Max, of Copenhagen, Denmark; a sister, Martha Wesselman (Ron) of Franklin, IN; and two brothers, Sonny Logue (Linda) and Fred Logue (Merleda), both of Rochester, IL, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews and other family.
