LCDR, Ret., Richard “Dick” A. Krick, 83, of Williamsburg, VA formerly of Hayes, VA, Virginia Beach, VA, and Lemoore, CA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 28, 2014. He was born on October 25, 1930 in Wernersville, PA. A faithful servant, loving husband, father and grandfather, and a true American Patriot; he was called home by the lord to join his wife of 50 years, Kitty Krick. He joins her now and was received in the Lords Kingdom.
He fought the good fight at Medical College of Virginia (VCU) in Richmond, VA. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Earl John Krick; mother, Alice Snyder; sister, Dolores Witt; brother, Douglas Krick; and great-granddaughter, Sydney Landers. He is survived by his five children Sheree and Robert Barcello of Charlotte, NC, Carol and Mark Sands of Williamsburg, VA, Rick and Deborah Krick of Lemoore, CA, Larry Davis of Grand Island, NE, and Linda and Steven Goldsworthy of Brighton, MI; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Navy as a Recruit (E1) and reached the rank of LCDR (O4) during his 30 year career service. He retired from the Naval Service July 1, 1978, as Maintenance Officer of NAS Lemoore, CA. He served with honor and pride for the defense of our freedoms and right in this great nation of the United States of America.
After retirement he spear headed the F/A -18 Hornet Fleet Introduction Team at NAS Lemoore, CA. A new call of duty transferred him to NAS Norfolk, VA and he Joined Commander Naval Air Forces at Norfolk. He had over 60 years in the Naval Air Force Operations support. He received a deserved and well-earned retirement on January 27, 2014.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7 from 6-8 PM at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8 Crosswalk Community Church- Kings Way Campus at 5100 John Tyler Highway, Williamsburg, VA beginning at 1 PM.
Rest in peace good and faithful servant; all will love, miss, and remember you Dad, always.
