Kristin Michelle Smith went to heaven to be one of God’s newest Angels on January 6, 2024. She was the precious daughter of Bob and Barbara Smith of Williamsburg; and dear sister of Rob Smith, his wife, Carmen and their son, Tyler of Atlanta.
Kristi was born at Ft Rucker, Alabama on November 11, 1968. She was an Army brat who moved a lot with her father’s new assignments. She seemed to adjust to all the new places she lived because she never met a stranger and was always there with a big smile and happy greeting. Once you met Kristi you were a friend for life.
Kristi was a member of The Arc (for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities) for many years. She loved the activities and made so many wonderful friends. It gave her so much confidence to have so many friends and help in the community.
Kristi worked at Hardee’s for many years and was the greeter as well as the dining room attendant there. She was so loved by the “regulars” that several asked her to call them Grandma and Grandpa.
She also volunteered at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center for many years in the Volunteer Office and was well known throughout the hospital because of her friendly approach to everyone she met.
Kristi was a Pink Hatter with the “Scarlet Belles”, a group of wild and crazy Red Hatters! She touched so many lives in this group.
Kristi is missed by many dear friends and would love to have them all at her Celebration of Life on February 3rd at 2pm at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church at 215 Richmond Rd.
Instead of flowers, Kristi would be so proud if you made donations to The Arc of Greater Williamsburg, 105-D Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188 in her memory.
