I dearly miss my friend Jeff.  He was one of the smartest yet most affable people I've ever known.  He was generous beyond measure. I aim to emulate his character.  I wish Liz, Heather and Hilary peace of mind and sweetness in the middle of sadness when thinking of him.

“Mornin Jeff”,  that’s what we say EVERY mornin when we walk into work. Gosh we miss him.  His tree is blooming and bringing  us joy each day.

Taking a moment to once again send condolences.  Each year, at this time, you return more deeply to your memories and feelings of loss.  I hope on each anniversary you are able have more smiles than tears as you remember, together.

My wife, Lesley, and I are grateful to have known Jeff and to have joined his extended family when our son, James, married Hilary. Jeff and Elizabeth  have been wonderful in their warm friendship. We will remember Jeff as kind, friendly, funny, and smart,  and especially for his devotion to his family. 


I worked at ATT and I remember seeing and chatting with Jeff.  He was always friendly and pleasant.  Sending my Condolence to his family.  .

Although I've only known Jeff for about a year, I can say with confidence that he could make light of any dark place.  Every interaction with him was a good time.  No matter the challenge, he always found a way to make things fun.  He is deeply missed as both a colleague and friend.  Please accept my deepest condolences for this incredible loss.

To Jeff's family: As you can see from the postings, Jeff touched so many people here.  His amazing humor and dedication will never be forgotten.  Wishing you peace, comfort, and lots of love. Thank you for sharing Jeff with us all these years.

My sincere condolences to Elizabeth and the girls. Jeff was a smart man, an amazing storyteller, and a wonderful friend. I always enjoyed his stories and had a smile on my face when he left my office. We enjoyed many laughs together along with other friends from work. Jeff will be greatly missed. I have a memory sealed in my mind of Jeff on the drums wearing a habit during our run of Nunsense at Century High— still makes me smile to remember that!  Thinking of you Elizabeth and your girls and wishing you all the other wonderful memories of your husband and father to look back on and hold close to your hearts .  

Jeff was a model husband, father, and brother to my sister and I.  We have been remembering the years that have past and the humor and fun those years brought. 
A few days before he passed he was telling me stories about his time doing IT for the Supreme Court. The brightest fire burns out fastest.  

Jeff was a great friend first and a colleague second.  Always a quick wit and very knowlegable about his work...knowlege which he generously shared with others.  Thank you Jeff for your friendship and thank for the service to your country!!

Jeff always greeted me with a smile on his face, and I always departed with a smile on my face. His grace, poise, and professionalism served as a model for the rest of us.


Jeff was a great person to know, work with and for.  Always positive, even when we both looked at each other shaking our heads.  He was a joy to be around.

A great loss of a kind soul. I met Jeff about 30 years ago and we worked closely on some projects for a few years and became good friends. He was a jovial guy with a great outlook on life and had a big heart. I have only good memories, some of which were hilarious. Most of my time with him was spent laughing. He will surely be missed.

Simply said, I loved working with Jeff.  He knew his stuff, got big things done, and was easy to work with.  And, he was a genuinely nice  guy who made my life ... and I suppose the lives of many others ... better. Thank you for sharing him.

I met Jeff about 3 years ago through work and quickly considered Jeff a friend more than a colleague.  After about a year, we stopped working together on the same project but we continued to stay connected as friends. Every single time I spoke with Jeff, I walked away smarter and with a smile on my face (often-times laughing). 
Jeff was a wonderful human being and brightened the days of everybody he spent time with. Sending love to the Phipps family!

My heartfelt condolences to the family.  I only knew Jeff very briefly but he was a wonderful man and mentor.  So kind and so willing to guide and share his experience.  The community will miss him.

To the Phipps Family: I'm sure you already know what an incredible person Jeff was, truly one of a kind. He was a formative mentor in the early days of my career but mostly always a welcoming face that I could look for. Never too busy or too important to stop and just say hello. He would always leave you with a smile and shared many stories of the family he loves so dearly. I'll never forget the loud "hey this is Katie Sochrin, did you know she's a Sochrin, thats jay Sochrin's daughter" announced loudly in a quiet office. Every single time. May he rest in peace and you find comfort in the positive impact he had on so many. 

To the Phipps family,  anyone who knows and understands what work family is, Jeff was that for me. Back in the 2011 timeframe,  we spent many weeks working on a project in Texas.  One weekend we got lucky to have time for exploring the Texas sights.  On a Sunday afternoon, we found a car museum just outside of Austin.  Jeff was driving.  I asked him to stop.  He stayed in the car while I checked what the museum had.  When I got to the front door I saw a Tucker through the window.  I yelled at Jeff..."they have a TUCKER, we're going in!"  As it turned out, we had a very educational 3 hour experience we both enjoyed.

I'm sorry to hear that Jeff passed.  He was such a great guy to work with.  I will never forget the TDY nights of Toe tapping, Old Fashioned, laughter and great food.  He will be missed.

I just met Jeff last year and immediately he made a lasting impression.  He is the kindest, gentlest man. I am still in shock over hearing that he passed. He will truly be missed by us all.

Jeff was my dear friend and brother in Jesus Christ.  He was a very wise leader, great musician,  generous with his time and treasure and hilariously funny.  I will miss him dearly until we see each other again at the throne of the holy, infinite but personal God who loves Jeff beyond all measure.  Think of the BLAST Jeff is having now!

Jeff became a good friend over the years we played and recorded music together.  Such a kind a gentle spirit.  I hadn’t seen him much over the last several years but think fondly of him often….still will.
