James Ellsworth Wheeler

Mr. Wheeler was born in Spotsylvania, VA to James C. and Mary Lee Wheeler, who preceded him in death. He attended VPI and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He was a partner in EW2 Environmental, Inc. Charlotte, NC before retiring to Gloucester to live on the water and enjoy the beauty of nature there. He and Barbara moved to Stonehouse Community in Toano in 2006.

Mr. Wheeler is survived by his brother, John M. Wheeler of Chesterfield, VA and his wife, Carol. Also surviving are his wife of 54 years, Barbara Moore Wheeler, and his three sons, J. Randall Wheeler of Poquoson, VA and his wife Starla; Wm. Christopher Wheeler of Londonderry, NH and his wife, Sheri; and Bryan A. Wheeler of Raleigh, N.C. and his wife Kirsten.

Mr. Wheeler’s adored grandchildren are all Wheelers – Cameron, Kyle, Connor, Austin, Andrew, Cassie, Anna and Calvin.

A Celebration of his life will be held at Stone House Presbyterian Church on May 21, 2016 at 2PM. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.nelsencares.com.
