James “Jim” Patrick Paulk, 64, passed away on June 8, 2018 in Norfolk, Virginia. He was born September 5, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a longtime resident of Lee County, Georgia and had recently moved to Virginia.
James attended Albany State University to obtain his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. He later attended Columbus State University to obtain his Masters degree. He worked in law enforcement for most of his career. He worked for the Albany Police Department, Dougherty County Sheriff's Office, and the Dougherty County District Attorney's Office where he finally retired in 2015. During his career he was chief of the Albany-Dougherty Metro S.W.A.T team, detective at the Albany Police Department, Lead Investigator at the D.A. Office, and an active participate in many community events.
Survivors include his daughter Dallas Martin and her husband Jonathan of Leesburg, Ga.; his son Dalton Paulk of Providence Forge, Va., and his sister Patricia Combs of Providence Forge, Va.
