With sadness, we, his Sons and Daughters-in-love, share that Jack Boren left his body and entered into Heaven with his savior, Jesus, Friday, September 9th. He was 86. He lived in Williamsburg, VA. He was born in Evansville, IN and raised in Fort Branch, IN. He also lived in New Albany, IN; Jeffersonville, IN; East Brunswick, NJ; Newtown, PA; Lake of the Woods, VA; and Herndon, VA.
He met his beloved bride, Ann E. Zurstadt while he was an engineering student at Evansville College and she was a nurse. They married in 1954 while he was in the Army. Together, Jack and Ann made lifelong friends during this time.
Jack went on to work in the paper tube industry as a plant manager and salesman. He enjoyed nature, history, math, kindness, and a good laugh. He loved football, baseball, and like every good Hoosier, basketball. His passions were his family, Church, and volunteering in community organizations, most notably the Friends of the Wilderness Battlefield where he helped in the restoration of the Historic Ellwood House in Locust Grove, VA.
Jack is survived by his two sons and their wives: Paul and Marla, and Scott and Maria; and his grandsons and their wives David & Jamie, Mike & Chelsea, Andrew & Sarah Kraft and his great-grandkids Ethan and Ella Kraft. He is also survived by his sister Mary Margaret (Peggy), her husband Edward (Tony) Lavagnino, his sister-in-law Mary (Mare) Zurstadt, and many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Ann and his first born son David.
Jack and Ann will be buried together next to their son David, and his parents Jesse and Geneva, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville IN at a date to be announced later.
