He was married to his best friend and soulmate, Carolyn, for 45 happy years. Together they raised three children, went on many cruises, spent lots of time camping, and enjoyed all types of dancing with their friends throughout the years.
A devoted family man, Gordon could always be counted on as a chaperone for the marching band booster club. He enjoyed family reunions, laughing and joking with everyone. He was very family oriented and loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Some of his happiest memories were made on family vacations.
Gordon was employed at Dresser Rand, as well as a veteran of the Air Force. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and fishing, and he participated in Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Above all else, Gordon could always be found watching the Buffalo Bills. Gordon was certainly someone who never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone he met.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Chase; his son, Dan Johnson (Lori); his daughter, Penny Klein (Richard); grandchildren, Lexi and Jake; and siblings Lila Chase, Lillian Cole, and Irv Chase.
Gordon is preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy; parents, Forest and Pearl Chase; siblings, Charlie Chase, Marie Hostuttler, Shirley Kapp, Laverne Chase, Harold Chase; and beloved pet, Mr. Bootser.
