Born April 2, 1928, in Itmann, WV, Florence was the daughter of Albert and Tilda Bare.
Florence owned and operated Shelby’s Mens and Boys Store in Mullens, WV, 1962-1982, where she sold countless pairs of Converse tennis shoes, Duckhead jeans, coveralls and work boots to the local teenagers and coalminers. She and her husband of 67 years, Shelby, also owned and operated the Mullens Laundromat for 11 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby; her son, Larry; her sister, Enfield; and her brothers, Larry, Charles, Joe and Bob.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald Dale Tolliver and wife, Sharon of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter, Shelia Crawford and husband, Dennis of Williamsburg, VA; four grandchildren, Sonya Bails and husband, Danny of Pittsburgh, PA, Cameron Crawford of Asheville, NC, Emily Crawford of Williamsburg, VA and Daniel Tolliver and wife, Kim of Beckley, WV; great-grandson, Tanner Bails; and daughter-in-law, Josephine Tolliver of Beckley, WV.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living Facility for all the care and love they extended to Florence over the past 1 ½ years and also to the At Home Hospice Staff.
A visitation will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 450 Courthouse Rd., Princeton, WV, on Thurs., March 2 at 1p.m., followed by a service at 2p.m.
