Mr. Fischer was my husband s law school professor. I talked to him at social occasions at the college. He was a kind and intelligent man. We respected him a great deal. Katherine Small Wagner

I was saddened to learn today of Emeric's passing. As a law student at W&M in the 1970's, I appreciated his kindness and friendship and remember fondly his leading services at Temple Beth El. He  was one of the people who made my stay in Williamsburg a happy one. My deepest sympathies to his wife and children.

Dear Bernice and Family, Charlotte and I were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Emeric. He was a kind and gentle man whom we have known for more than twenty years at Temple Beth El. We fondly remember him for assisting at our daughter Sharon's Bat Mitvah and for contributing so much to the Temple, the College, and the community.

My deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Fischer. Although I have not met you, I still wanted to reach out and share how Dr. Fischer impacted me. I have worked at William & Mary's Recreation Center for the past year and half and I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Fischer at least once a week. He was always so friendly and he made my day brighter every time I saw him. I remember one time I was walking around the building and stopped to say hi to him and he gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. He was so kind and I will sincerely miss seeing him at the Rec. I am very sorry for you loss and will keep you in my thoughts.

Emeric Fischer made a difference serving the community with distinction on manny levels of achievement.  I honor his memory With respect and  admiration.

As a neighbor and friend of the Fischers my mother and I were deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Fischer's death.  While he will no longer be with us, he nevertheless will remain in our hearts as a kind, gentle man who prepared a new generation of young men and women to face the challenges of the twenty-first century.

Dear, dear Emeric, we will miss you so: your smile, your erudition at Torah study, your acting in our "drama group", sharing kiddush with you on Friday nights at services. It was an honor knowing you. Our condolences to Bernice and your family.

An inspiration to the volunteers at the Colonial Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross over so many years, Dr. Fischer was an example of steadfast dedication to the humanitarian organization.
