He is survived by his brother, Tom Bahorich (Millie); his three sons Damien Burke (children Morgan and Maya), Darryl Burke, and Alan Burke (wife Lauren, children Hunter and Ellie); and his ex-wife Mary Ann Burke.
Don was born September 5, 1942 in Pittsburgh, PA, where he grew up and attended Central Catholic High School and the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Physics. He spent a long career in the nuclear power industry, working for NASA, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Dominion Energy.
He carried a life-long joy of playing cards (especially bridge), trading rare collectibles, repairing cars, discussing the mysteries of science and politics, and supporting his sons’ aspirations.
