IN THE CARE OF
Nelsen Williamsburg
Cynthia (Cyndy) Price Jenkins passed away on October 10, 2022. She was born on September 11, 1946, in Roanoke, Virginia, to the late Carl and Hilda Price. Cyndy attended Cave Spring High School, and graduated with honors from the College of William and Mary in 1968.
In March 1968, Cyndy met her husband, Dr. Dan Jenkins, and it was love at first sight (“when you see something that obvious, you do not just walk away”). She taught kindergarten and first grade for six years before “deciding not to walk away from the obvious”, and becoming a full-time wife and mother, all while supporting her husband’s career. Cyndy was a voracious reader, loved the beach, and traveling.
Cyndy is survived by her husband, Dan, and her sons, Christopher Todd (Suzanne) and Jonathan Marc (Ann Marie), and her younger brother, David Price and his wife, Priscilla. Her grandchildren, Ethan, Lauren, Ryan, and Ian enhanced her love of her family.
Cyndy’s life was medically complicated, but she remained a kind and loyal friend to all.
While a student at William and Mary, Cyndy was baptized into the Episcopal Church, and a private interment will be held in the Bruton Parish churchyard. A celebration of Cyndy’s life will be scheduled at a later date. Donations in Cyndy’s memory may be made to the Williamsburg Regional Library.
