Kenneth L. Smith (78) of Canyon Lake, Texas died on Veterans Day 11-11-11 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born to Oscar & Juanita Smith on October 2, 1933. Ken served in the U.S. Army and became a paratrooper; he loved flying and later became a licensed pilot and a member of the Confederate Air Force restoring World War II aircrafts. He ran Smith Excavating (Willard) for 30 years before moving to Texas. In Texas he worked for the Dean Word Company and was very well known for his great work ethics as a construction supervisor. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Brother, Larry Smith and Grandson, Steven Shirey. Surviving are his two brothers, Keith Smith and Les (Alisha) Smith, his four children, Alan Smith, David, (Kim) Smith, Annette Smith & John (Alice) Smith along with 9 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
